Who Are We?

We are...

The Mystic: That's me! I love philosophy, spirituality, art, thinking, planning, organizing, playing, history, wildlife, nature, people and cultures. Once I start blogging who I am will become some what apparent.

The Nomad: That's my better half! He loves me and takes care of me, so he is perfect. He is my rock: He gets things done, pays attention to detail, does our budget, plans for the future, checks his email (unlike me), and pays the bills. He has a beautiful heart that is tucked neatly away. He he sees beauty in nature & cultures, appreciates history, art that he can understand and enjoys to listen to live music weather on the street or at a concert. Even though he is the up tight one, he will be the one to crank the car stereo (& the windows might even be down) as we listen to a song that is making him feel really good even with all the cars around us. (sweet or annoying??) It doesn't bother me because it makes me happy to see him beaming. Plus it's always a song that should make most people feel happy too! Spread the love! Backing up to the Nomad part, he is almost a real nomad, he is originally from the Middle East.

Three Plus Decades:  We were set up on a surprise blind 'date' back when we were both mere babes. (And I use the word date very loosely, maybe more on that in a future post or maybe not :) We spent the first 5 years living our life, I was working and he was going to school. Then after graduation we moved over-seas to his home land, had three beautiful and awesome children (boy, girl, boy)  Once our eldest boy & girl went off to college in the US, we decided that we would follow. So, we packed up the baby (14 years old) and moved back to the States and we haven't looked back since. We now have a fourth addition, our wonderful daughter in-law (eldest son). I could write all day about our kids...

The Almost Empty Nest:  Just last week, we helped our youngest move into the dorms as he started his first days in university. It was as harder than when our first child left for university, this took me totally by surprise. I thought it would be the easiest since our eldest and his wife live in our basement, but it wasn't. The feeling of an empty nest was real.

Mid Life Crisis: I had a choice either be sad for my loss or have a mid life crisis. So, I had a mid life crisis my style; I agreed that it was time to buy an RV to start enjoying 'our' time. At this time we haven't gotten out on the road, but I must admit...an empty nest does have it's perks, even if it is still an almost empty nest... . .  .   .

This Blog's Central Characters are The Mystic and the Nomad and it will be all about our experiences whether it is traveling somewhere or a close by Sunday drive in our area.

PS: I don't edit, it just takes all the fun out of writing. If I wish to publish professionally one day, then I will get someone to do that for me. I believe they are called editors :D
